Water colour artist and children's story illustrator circa
1916.
Born in Waverly, Kansas and then moved to
Portland in Oregon, USA where she was a member of the America
Artist Professional League, Oregon Society of Artist and the
Society of Oregon Artists. Trained in the Portland Art
Museum School and the Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts she
exhibited from 1912 until 1939.

Considered one of the leading watercolour
artists of the Northwest USA and listed in the 'Oregon Painters of
the First Hundred Years' by Allen and Klevit. In Davenports
her book illustrations include "Trundle Tales",
"Cougar Pass" and the "Oregon Girl".
Colista also has portraits in public buildings and murals in
churches. |
