1845 -1847 Relief Commission Papers


National Archives of Ireland file RLFC3/1 contains papers on the Relief Commission (for the Irish Famine)  including letters received from November 1845 to May 1847.  There are 4815 entries in the database and one, entry 1432, relates to a Dowling. 

It concerns a letter dated 13 April 1846 from the Barony of Delvin in County Westmeath, Ireland.  The one page from Reverend James Dowling, Parish Priest of Clonmellon, requesting a list of the conditions for the provision of Indian Meal (maize).
