Parish Priests in

The following list is from the ever helpful Jane Lyons [mailto:jlyons1@iol.ie]
I have left in the list of parish places as the stood in her list but
stripped out non-Dowlings. Jane points out that parish names and
boundaries have changed and are not necessarily the same as civil parishes
and the list of parishes is useful for future research.
She also says that there was a tendency for men to be sent to the parish from which they came after they left
the seminary - if they didn't go abroad. Usually a priest would be sent back to either his home parish or one
close to it. One or two curates was an indication of a big
parish. There is no indication here but one parish could have several
churches.
