"Oldest
house still standing in picturesque Galena, Illinois. Built in
1826 by pioneer merchant John Dowling. This handsome stone
structure restored by the late W.F. McCaughey. Now authentically
furnished as original primitive dwelling and old miner's trading post.

This stands 6" tall and is 4 1/4" in diameter at the base.
This is marked on the bottom "Old English Staffordshire Ware"
